A Little Bit About SLAM UP

As you may know from previous posts, our first TFAP Bmore event is coming up on January 26th! Speak Up will feature wordsmiths, Emily and Cali from Slam Up. We wanted to introduce you to them as we're working on getting the official poster finished. If you'd like to open for these talented and funny gals, please let us know at

Slam Up is an innovative mix of comedy and poetry through music and spoken word featuring Cali Bulmash and Emily Lowinger. They'll rap, sing, spit (poetry), & grab you by the heartstrings with their tales of the many shades of love--requited, unrequited, gay, straight, queer, or, well, just "creative."

Here is a recent video clip of them from a show in New York City:

Spoken Word - Call to Poets

In With a BOOM

Welcome! We recently started a new chapter of The Feminist Art Project in the Greatest City in America - Baltimore (That assertion is stamped on the wooden benches in the city, so really, who am I to argue?). Since we began in October of this year, we have held two meetings, both at the City Arts building in Station North. I am happy to report we are making many new connections and have a lot of interest so far.

I am hoping that this space becomes a platform for engagement and critique as well as some basic information on what we're up to next. Check back often, as there are more exciting things to come for us. We are going to open 2014 with a BOOM.
